Liipa farm disc golf
Jõelähtme municipality’s first disc golf course in Liipa Talus

Introduction of the track
The trail is maintained by Liipa Farm Recreation Centre
The Liipa Farm disc golf park is a 12-hole, amateur-friendly course that is suitable for both the beginner to get acquainted with disc golf and the advanced player to practice accuracy and approaches. The tees have a decent artificial grass surface for good grip and we use disc golf baskets from the top Swedish brand Trainer. Many baskets have mandatory waypoints, or “mandos”, which add extra weight.
There are both front and back lines to reach the baskets – the bigger your arsenal of throws, the more confident you are at making birdies, or two shots through the basket. There are a number of challenges in the disc golf park to make the round even more exciting. Half of the Liipa Talu disc golf park is in the open and windy at times, while the other half is in a forested area where narrow corridors and accuracy are paramount. All courses are PAR3’s, so to play PAR, or zero, you need to pass the basket in three shots.
- there is a mando post on the track, which must be played from the left.
- The basket is located at the end of a large rock, so you have to putt from the bottom up.
- to reach the basket on the track, you must throw it from the forest into the open.
- the track must be played over a volleyball court.
- there is a hazard area, or bunker, on the track, which adds +1 to your throw and you continue the game from where the disc landed.
- there is a “triple-mando” or gate to play through.
- there is an OB-yard, an area outside the playing area, before the basket.
- on the track, you need a planning move to reach the basket.
- the track has a sharp angle, which favours the front hand throw.
- The course is a longer, open course where a good drive and accurate approach and putting are required to make a “birdie” or two-shot basket from a 100m open shot or “drive”, or a “PAR” or three-shot shot.
- the track is an island track, i.e. the disc must land on the island with the first throw, otherwise you will be penalised +1.
- the track is a “double-mando” track, where two trees are marked with “mando” signs – you have to play between them. If you are wrong, you move to the “dropzone” and +1 is added to your score.
